New Zealand Government Officials Visit New Tait HQ
2 May 2015 – Christchurch, New Zealand
Tait Communications was pleased to host four government dignitaries on 1 May at its new global headquarters in Christchurch. Accompanying Trevor Laughton, Tait's Chief Technology Officer, and Paul Daigneault, General Manager Products and Platforms, were Matt Doocey, National MP for Waimakariri, National List MPs Nuk Korako and Jo Hayes, with the Honourable Nicky Wagner, Associate Minister for Canterbury Earthquake Recovery and National MP for Christchurch Central.
The group toured the new Tait campus as part of an outing to learn more about the electrical utilities sector and Tait's work with other local partners such as EA Networks.
After a welcome reception in the main atrium of the Tait Technology Centre from Trevor and Paul, the delegation received an overview of some of the Tait group's latest innovations, includingTait GridLink, Tait BioLink and new Digital Mobile Radio solutions, from both Tait and MiMOMax Wireless with an overview of how Tait continues its proud history of technological leadership in Christchurch today.
In addition, the group also learned about Tait's significant contribution to the Christchurch economy, through hundreds of local jobs and close cooperation with the University of Canterbury. These links have helped Tait and Christchurch to become a centre of collaboration, where exciting new ideas can take flight across New Zealand and around the world. Over 95 percent of Tait's products are exported, putting Christchurch firmly on the global innovation map.
"It was a sincere pleasure to host our guests and show them all that Tait has created and innovated—both in our facility and our products," says Paul. "Our new building is the first in a wider campus development that will support the growth of the company and the future of the region's high-tech export industry. We hope that they'll continue to follow our progress and return soon."
"In addition, we'd also like to thank the Government for its continued support of Tait and the New Zealand innovation sector through the NZTE activities and programmes like Callaghan Innovation grants," adds Trevor. "The support Tait receives from Callaghan Innovation's R&D Growth Grant scheme boosts our ability to pursue the cutting edge R&D required to innovate in a fast changing market."
Following the technology demonstration, the group toured theEECA award-winning building,在公园外etting with edible garden plots, fruit trees and outdoor gym equipment, before continuing to the research and development spaces, observing first hand how Tait's new facility is creating a more collaborative and efficient environment to boost innovation and communication within teams.
