Tait to launch DMR Tier III solution at IWCE 2012

Tait Communications will be among the first to offer a DMR Tier III mission-critical solution when it launches its DMR offering at the upcoming International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) 2012.

Tait Communications will be among the first to offer a DMR Tier III mission-critical solution when it launches its DMR offering at the upcoming International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) 2012, to be held in Las Vegas, 20th–24th February.

Tait DMR solutions are designed to improve the safety and efficiency of organizations with mission-critical communications needs by providing extensive data capabilities combined with crystal-clear digital voice communications and multi-vendor interoperability, to ensure continuity of supply.

Monique Princen, Tait Solutions Marketing Manager, says: "As one of the first implementations of Trunked DMR (Tier III), the Tait DMR solution provides a highly reliable and robust wireless communication solution that is well suited for mission-critical environments.

"Tait is committed to open standards and our DMR solution is no exception—designed to be fully compliant with the Digital Mobile Radio standards defined by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). Tait DMR includes integrated location services, Over-the-Air programming, Network Management, encryption and security features—with a stress-free, seamless migration pathway."

"Tait DMR solutions allow organizations to minimize costs and increase return on investment, while operating a highly resilient consolidated voice-and-data network," adds Monique.

"By implementing a digital communication network based on DMR open standards, organizations can avoid being locked in to a single vendor. As a result, they can leverage better value through multi-vendor solutions and be assured of interoperability with equipment and infrastructure sourced from other DMR-compliant suppliers."

As with all DMR implementations, the Tait solution offers spectral efficiency by providing two logical channels in one physical 12.5 kHz channel. This results in 6.25 kHz-equivalent channel spacing, making it very relevant for areas with spectrum congestion—and a future-proof digital solution for the upcoming ultra-narrowbanding regulation.

Alongside its DMR launch, Tait Communications has established a DMR demonstration facility at its Houston, Texas, facility, which will allow organizations to experience first-hand the capabilities of Trunked DMR and allow third-party providers to test the interoperability of their equipment and applications with Tait DMR.
